Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Airport-Liberty Station

We were here for just a couple of days of our trip. The hotel has everything I need. Complimentary breakfast, Starbucks less than 5 min walk from hotel, beautiful walking path along the coastal waterway. Beautiful quite time walk, with a coffee at sunrise. Lots of benches along the way to enjoy the sited. There were 3 of us on the trip and our room was two bedrooms with two baths and a terrace very reasonably priced.

I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Airport-Liberty Station and overall, I had a pleasant experience, meriting a solid 3-star rating. Let's start with the positives. The breakfast offered at the hotel was exceptional – a delightful array of choices that catered to various tastes and dietary needs. It was a great way to start the day, and the quality of the food was consistently high throughout my stay. Another highlight was the staff. From the receptionist to the other employees, everyone was genuinely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure guests felt welcome and taken care of. Their professionalism and warmth significantly enhanced my stay. However, there were a few areas that I believe could use improvement. Firstly, the gym facilities were somewhat lacking. As someone who likes to maintain a fitness routine, I found the gym minimally equipped, which was a bit disappointing. A few more fitness machines or weights would make a big difference. Additionally, the room itself, while comfortable in size, showed signs of wear. The couch had visible stains, and overall, the room had an outdated feel to it. The Carpets were old and filthy. The furniture's were outdated. An update would greatly improve the overall experience and ambiance of the rooms. In conclusion, while there are areas for enhancement, particularly regarding the gym facilities and room furnishings, the excellent breakfast and outstanding service provided by the staff make Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Airport-Liberty Station a good choice for travelers seeking comfort and convenience in San Diego.

I’ve made it a point to complete reviews on my stays at Homewood Suites. They’ve all been consistently great experiences. Checkin was great. Freddy and staff made everyone in our family feel welcomed and valued. The rooms were spacious (we stayed in the South building). Having a stove with pots & pans helped when eating out wasn’t “on the menu”. The rooms were clean, and their cleaning process was an added feature to our stay. We made use of the complimentary breakfast. The variety was great…it suited our family with varied preferences. For those that like coffee, it was great (ha). We used the shuttle service to transport to the airport in our final day. The driver was awesome, who provided some history to the area (Point Loma, Liberty Station, the surrounding area). Apologies, I meant to snag a picture of the room (as in previous reviews), but failed to do so. I’d certainly stay here again…and recommend others to do so. It’s strategically located for success, in my opinion.

This was a great hotel. It consists of 3 buildings, 2 for guests requiring key cards for entry, and 1 main check-in building. The main building hosts the free breakfast which includes hot food with an egg dish that changes daily. They offer the regular scrambled eggs, but also another egg dish that could be omelette or fritata, etc. The breakfast was tasty and gets busy after 7, so I recommend going early to avoid the crowd. The rooms offer a kitchenette with dishwasher and the refrigerator even has an ice maker. You still can get ice on demand on the ground floor. I did have an issue with staples in the carpet, but they fixed that within an hour after I notified them. We had a king size bed that was comfortable with more than enough pillows. A plus is the small balconies in addition to a larger one on the third floor. You can watch planes overhead and use the binoculars to view the pleasant surroundings. I will note you can hear the planes from inside the room, but it is not overbearing. This was a pleasant stay topped by the helpful employees, who would help even while on their break. This is a hotel you can trust in the area.

Beautiful location and overall clean. However the decor, furniture is outdated and uncomfortable. The beds are horrendous. The most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. My back and neck still hurt. Seriousness these beds are awful and i feel like a bad parent that my kids had to sleep on this awful pullout couch. AC unit next to the bed is so loud too. I think this place could really use some thoughtful updating. Even if getting more blankets and comfortable bedding. The top blanket is usually never washed so then you are basically stuck sleeping with a sheet and what resembles a bedskirt. The breakfast area is nice too and the outdoor dining area was great except the homeless man with his full shopping cart cooking at the outdoor grill.
